Do You Charge Separately For Packing Materials, Or Incorporate Them Into The Hourly Rate?

Peak Moving and Storage maintains simple and transparent pricing. We provide all packing materials (boxes, tape, packing paper, etc.) free of charge. If you have any you have already purchased, or that are leftover from a prior move, we can use those too!

Can I Hire Peak Moving And Storage Just For Packing?

Yes! While we specialize in full service packing and moving, we can pack for you whether you rent a truck, or a portable storage container.

What Items Are Movers Unable To Pack?

For safety and regulatory compliance, we cannot pack hazardous materials, flammables (like propane, lighter fluid, or chemicals), Perishable food, pressurized cannisters, or personal documents, jewelry, and cash. We recommend those items be transported in your personal vehicle.

How far in advance should packing be completed before move day?

For self packing, we recommend finishing packing a day or 2 before. So that everything is ready for our movers. If we pack for you it is highly dependent on the scope of the move, smaller apartments and homes can be packed and moved in one day, where as larger homes will require multiple days. This ensures you can live comfortably in your home as long as possible while avoiding last minute chaos.

Are my packed items insured against damage during the move?

Yes. When Peak Moving and Storage professionally packs your boxes, those items are covered under our valuation protection plans. Items packed by owner (PBO) carry inherent limits under standard industry guidelines because the internal wrapping condition cannot be verified prior to transport.

Do I need to empty my dressers before the packers arrive?

For clothing in sturdy wooden dressers, items can often remain inside if the furniture isn’t overly heavy. However, fragile items, heavy books, loose paper, or objects that can slide around must be packed into boxes. If necessary loaded drawers can be removed and wrapped separately. Our team will advise you on the best approach during your initial call, and during the move.
